Hawksbill Turtle Program
The survival rate of the hawksbill turtules currently runs at about 3% and Vomo Island Resort is hoping to increase that number to 10% by breeding them in captivity. They are nurtured to adulthood for successful release back to the wild once they grow to a size where their shells are hard enough to protect them from many of their natural predators.
